Previous Name: Eustace Clarence Scrubb
Myth: Narnia
Past Life Information: Eustace was raised in war-torn England by "progressive" parents who basically just ignored him all the time. He was selfish and a bit nasty until he was magically transported to Narnia via a picture in his family home. With Lucy and Edmund, he voyaged on the Dawn Treader, was turned into a dragon and learned how to become a good person again, and finally reached the edge of the world. Later he traveled with his friend Jill back to Narnia to save Caspian's son. Even later, he died in a train accident and was transported with all his cousins (save one) to Narnia for the final battle.
Current Name: Ian Worthington
Age: 17
Occupation: High school student. He's (secretly) taking lessons at the Wagner opera house.
Personality: Ian is a bit of an enigma. He's naturally an affectionate, sensitive, fairly gentle boy with a keen interest in the arts and a naturally empathetic nature. He's curious and likes to figure out how things work, with an incredibly active inner life and imagination. However, being raised like he has gave Ian a hard protective shell that can be difficult to crack. He can come across cold and scornful, like he's taking your measure and isn't impressed with what he sees. He can be vicious when provoked, lashing out in self-defense. If he fears being hurt, he can be downright cruel. He's constantly at war with himself and has been taught to hate everything about who he really is. He does not like to be touched, and yet he is absolutely starved for affection of all kinds.
Background: Ian and his older sister, Dani, were raised by powerful right-wing conservative Christian wingnuts who own a local pray-away-the-gay conversion center. Considering Ian was naturally sensitive, artistic, and queer, this was absolute torture. His sister managed to help shield him to some extent, and over the years, Ian learned how to bury the most important parts of himself, playing along for family approval. (Or, at least, to avoid the harsh reality of their disapproval.) He was gutted when she was forced out of the family, and from age 13 onwards, he's had no one to help keep him from the full force of his family's attention. He's managed to survive, with the occasional secret rebellion--including secret singing lessons at the Wagner Opera House, which is the only release valve he allows himself for his natural creativity. He has a stunning, haunting voice; what he lacks in formal training, he makes up in musicality, bringing intense and visceral emotion to his music. Unfortunately, spending time at the opera house put him in close contact with Tobias Wagner. It was supposedly mutual hate at first sight, but Ian developed an intense crush on the other boy. In the bloom of this new crush, he was careless and let slip more than he should to his father. They fought and he was sent to his father's camp to relearn heternormativity. He's just returned home and is ready to prove himself.
